Chelter-Koba is a unique monastery situated in one of the Crimean rocks. Let’s have a look how people live there in the 21st century. The path is not the easiest to climb, but at the top you’ll find a marvellous rock monastery. It was found in the 8-9 centuries and had existed till the Turkish army captured the Crimea in 1475. The very monastery is situated in a natural grotto with the area of more than 150 square meters. All in all there are 22 caves of different size and purpose – these are monastery cells, cellarages, small and big refectory.
